If you need geographic information system (GIS) software to view these data, the freeware program ArcExplorer is available to download.

To restore the data to a format accessible by image processing software or a geographic information system (GIS):

  1. Download and store the compressed file(s) on a personal computer (PC).
  2. Uncompress the data.
If uncompressing a file at the DOS prompt, enter the file's name as a command (filename without the .exe extension).
If uncompressing a file using a Windows 95, 98, NT, or 2000 Windows Explorer program, use the computer's mouse to double click on the file's name (e.g., o38090e1.exe).
