Study site locations: Louisiana - Lake Calcascieu and Bayou D’Inde

Concentrations of PCBs in barn swallows were elevated above background concentrations downstream on Bayou D’Inde compared to upstream and the reference area in southeastern Louisiana. Trace element and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon concentrations were similar at upstream and downstream locations and at the reference area.
