Habitat Needs Assessment for the Upper Mississippi River System Public Involvement Report

Public involvement has been recognized as a vital part of the Habitat Needs Assessment (HNA) process of the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS) Environmental Management Program (EMP). During this first HNA, several approaches were developed by a multiagency HNA Public Involvement Team to assess the public’s understanding, values, and expectations regarding desired future habitat conditions for the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS).
