An Introductory Training Course for
|
The Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center (UMESC) has created a training course for the purpose of training its scientists and field station staff in the use of ArcView GIS software. The class was origionally developed for version 3.1, however since only one exercise was effected by version 3.2 updates, these class can be used to train individuals who work with either version of the program.
The goal of the class is to provide natural resources managers and researchers with the means to (1) understand the strengths and limitations of ArcView GIS, (2) access and query geographic information system (GIS) data, (3) perform simple analysis of GIS data, and (4) produce hard copy and digital products. Coursework includes lectures and hands-on exercises. A workbook and data base are provided.
To Register, complete the registration form and mail it to the training coordinator (Jan Olson, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse) with your training authorization. The registration fee is $450.
