Sample data

This section of the data clearinghouse contains a collection of UMGAP satellite images.

This is an example color composite image of Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) satellite data developed by the Resource Assessment Unit of the Minnesota DNR in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. The image was created using bands 4, 5, and 3 of the same TM scenes being used in the UMGAP vegetation classification.

This image is also available in a full resolution, Erdas Imagine raster format. The projection is UTM Zone 15, NAD27. Pixel size is 30 meters. It has been clipped to 1:100k USGS map quads, and can be downloaded as compressed Imagine raster files. These files can be used as image backdrops, or imported and converted to a number of GIS raster formats.
