Education:
BS Honors 1976 University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, Biology
Microbiology major, Chemistry minor, English emphasis; postgraduate credits in virology and food microbiology
Primary responsibilities/activities:
- Serve as the Quality Assurance Officer (QAO) for the Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center (UMESC)
- Conduct regulatory affairs assistance for tasks of the Memorandum of Agreement between the UMESC and Great Lakes Fishery Commission, in support of the Commission’s Integrated Management of Sea Lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) Control Program. Primary focus is on compliance to regulations of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Health Canada Pest Management Regulatory Agency as they relate to the lampricides TFM and niclosamide, and sea lamprey pheromones.

Active Projects:
- General technical assistance in support of lampricides and sea lamprey pheromones sponsored by the Great Lakes Fishery Commission
- General regulatory affairs in support of lampricides and sea lamprey pheromones sponsored by the Great Lakes Fishery Commission
- Support for pheromone experimental use permits and registration development activities of sea lamprey pheromones
- Oversee the center’s Quality Assurance Program, including standard operating procedures, review of regulated studies, training staff in Good Laboratory Practices and maintaining QA records
